Erdos Basin, an area of about 300,000 square kilometers, mainly located in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Shaanxi province and Shanxi province, It is rich in oil and gas, regarded as an important and the largest inland gas field in China. The exploration shows that the upper Paleozoic group reservoirs are some clastic rock formations with the characteristics of low porosity, low permeability and low pressure. Gas reservoirs are distributed in Shihezi Group, Shanxi Group of the Permian System,Taiyuan Group and Benxi Group of the Carboniferous System. Also the gas is found in and Shiqianfeng Group of the Permian System in some areas. This research project stdudied the gas distribution and reservoir characteristics on the basis of analyzing from those geological logging and gas logging information acquired in historical wells. According to the reservoir distribution, the purpose of the study is using the wellsite geological information, gas data, such as lithologic characteristic, rate of penetration, the value of total gas and chromatograph, the thickness of resvoir, to evolve effective, timely and accurate interpretation techniques for identifying the most favourable reservoir. As geological and gas data is numerous, in order to eliminate the false and retain the true data and select the most reference data, using a statistical probability methods, chart methods to eliminate the data of peripheral well.As we all know, the gas data is big different in different regions and different layers by drilling technology, geological factors, and other factors, so acquisition and choice of gas data and parameters is critical to interpretation. First, The accuracy about the extracted information relates to how find out the best efficient information from gas logging data.On the other hand,It is positive for distinguish gas zone. So the author processed the relatively Passive parameters.According to different strata, lithologic characteristic, gas zone distribution, using statistical analysis and comparison of well test results, the author studied the geological and gas data acquired from Shanxi group, Shihezi groups and shiqianfeng group. summarized the characteristics of geology and gas data in the gas zone.Through a large number of charts and data analysis, established gas logging interpretation charts for different blocks. This job laid the groundwork for gas reservoirs discovery and is useful for duly distinguish and accurate interpretation of gas reservoirs.
