With the growth of numerical method and the fast development of computer science, people have paid more attention to numerical simulation. Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) and its numerical simulation has already become a powerful research method influid mechanics. It is as important as the other two traditional research methods, experimentalmethod and theoretical method. This thesis is devoted to study a typical algorithm-CLEAR algorithm and its application in the simulation of incompressible viscous flow ,Numericaltests shows that the CLEAR algorithm can significantly accelerate the convergencerate of the iteration progress comparing with SIMPLER algorithm . The algorithm can alsobe used in the sediment transportation simulation of Yellow River. The main work is asfollows:1. We review the algebraic method and the partial differential equation method in thegrid generation technique. The Poisson equation combing algebraic method controlled theboundary mesh size is constructed.2.The finite volume method for solving the convection-diffusion equation is studied.Special attention is paid to the treatment of the convective terms. Comparing to the upwindscheme, some numerical test results show that the deferred correction QUICK scheme canavoid the false diffusion .3.SIMPLE method and CLEAR are discussed in the staggered grid. Comparing withthe SIMPLER method ,numerical results show that the CPU time and the iteration numbercan be effectively by using CLEAR method.4.A plane 2-D water-sediment flow governing equation is discussed. Applying someknown in river dynamics results , we use the CLEAR method to simulate for the real YellowRiver in Ningxia Shapotou area .The matrix formulation to the pressure-correction method have been derived method. Then we apply the CLEAR algorithm to simulate the sediment transportation of YellowRiver. Numerical results coincide with the e riverbed.
