This paper studies some key technologies in the aero geophysical field data drawing and cartography, and has implemented those key technologies based on ArcGIS Engine in terms of Contour Class Library and Automatic Cartography Class Library.This paper also studies four mainstream contour line drawing algorithms, and place a high emphasis on the comparison of the improved contour line drawing algorithm and the binary-raster based contour line drawing algorithm. Based on the binary-raster contour line drawing algorithm and ArcGIS Platform, we put forward an algorithm which could be used in irregular geographic areas. Compared with the classic contour drawing method and the contour line drawn by ArcMap, this method has an improvement in quality, accuracy and computational efficiency. In the mean time, this paper also analyses some kinds of contour filling algorithm, which includes raster based filling and vector based filling, pie based filling and topologic based filling, and especially the topologic contain binary tree based contour filling algorithm. And finally, this paper puts forward a new algorithm to meet the needs of contour filling based on the linear sort table, this method resolves the problem of separation between contour drawing and contour filling, and also ensures the consistency between contour line and contour filling region. Compared with the topologic contain binary tree based method, this algorithm has a great improvement in time efficiency. This paper also implements the function of generating Map Grid which is defined according to the Technical Requirements of Aero geophysical Digital Drawing and Cartography, the function of multi-frame cartography, the function of template-based national primary scale cartography and the function of auto-adapted map output, which improve the ability of automatic computer cartography.This paper enriches the theory of contour interpolation, and implements a high efficient contour line drawing algorithm, and also puts forward a new contour filling method based on the linear sort table, this method not only satisfies the fast seamless vector filling which is suitable for storing the vector region data in database, but also gives an insight into the contour line generalization.
