With the great development and wide application of spatial informational technologies,mineral resources assessment and mineral prediction,an important branch of geosciences,is striding forward in the informational direction.Supported by the GIS technology,getting Visual C++, MAPGIS and Databases together, the maps database management system of synthetic information, realizing by the form of tree tabulation and the way of project management,achieves to manage the vast amounts of the spatial information and graphics of mineral prediction and resources assessment,which is the main purpose of this paper.This thesis consists of four parts as follows:The first part consists of chapter one. First of all, from the perspective of subjects and significance of the paper, geoscience datas of the evaluation of mineral resources involving geophysical, geochemical, geological and other multi-disciplinary,which are expressed by spatial data of graphics files and spatial information,use the existing conventional database systems difficult to meet specialized needs,applications and management, which is highlight the significance of this paper and the importance of the topics.Then,overview on the evaluation of mineral resources and the methods of mineral prediction on comprehensive information,and through the application of mathematics geology and computer technology on the evaluation of mineral resources, clarifies the professional basis and background of the paper. Secondly, the description of geographic information system (GIS) and its application on mineral prediction, describes the concept, type, function and the main development trend of GIS, and the application and study of GIS at home and abroad on the prediction of mineral, detailedly.Finally in this chapter,through the description of the main contents of this paper relating to a large number of graphics files and spatial information on the geological, geophysical, geochemical and so on, the design of combining Access databases with mapgis spatial database to research and develop, establishs the maps database management system, having the management of spatial datas.The second part consists of chapter two and chapter three. Chapter II focuses on the development foundation and tools of Maps database management system:Visual C + +, MAPGIS and database-related knowledge.It mainly describes the merits of using VisualC++6.0 on the MFC developing maps database management system.From the perspective of Secondary development,the writer analyzes the Class,data-related organizations and management of MAPGIS.The paper adopts the design of combining Access database with Mapgis spatial database to research and develop maps database management system,in the current more popular database platforms and the technology, characteristics, organization and management of spatial database.Chapter III analyzes the characteristics of the general data model,focusing on the flow and content of data model of comprehensive information. Raw data of earth science (or digital map),according to different objective on mineral prediction of comprehensive information,will produce a large number of interpretation maps,which are different types and numbers,on various subjects.In order to better manage the graphic files and datas,the author in accordance with the process of "initial data" -> "to deal with and the interpretation of" -> "outcome document" of the regional geological ( digital geological maps), regional geophysical (gravity and magnetic datas), as well as regional geochemical (geochemical and heavy sand), designs the processes of data model of comprehensive information. And the regional gravity as an example to interpret the results, illustrates the specific contents of the data model of maps database management system of comprehensive information.The third part consists of chapter four,with focuse on the design and code of maps database management system of comprehensive information.The design of maps database management system, through managing directories and files and their corresponding metadata,making the location information and graphics datas of the geological, geophysical and geochemical maps,matching and organic linked, achieves to integrate and manage different disciplines and type,orderly. Maps database management system designed by the lists of tree form makes the complex multi-disciplinary datas on various fields integrated,with the management of datas categories.This way is convenient to inquire about all the information and go on space analysis and interpretation. In addition, the article combines the core of system design - project management and metadata, to open up introduce. The former focuses on management of directories,files and its metadata,and its corresponding procedures. The latter describes from the general definition,content of metadata to the knowledge metadata of maps database management system, and its creation and visualization process,in detail.The realization of maps database management system gets through by the relevant code and graphic or text of the connection and implementation of directories management and files management, metadata and maps database management system.System through directories and files management tree, achieves to the project management of directories and files.Access database manages the metadata of directories and files.Connecting to Access database,using Notepad,sytem demonstrates the content of metadata by standard.The fourth part consists of chapter five.It focuses on the applications of maps database management system,including directories and files management applications. The specific application of the design and implementation of maps database management system,shows the function and practicality of system.At present, the system has reached the scientific management of massive datas and graphics of geoscience, but it is still a prototype, in the space analysis and flexible output of the results graphics, also needs to be further developed and improved. With the system into practical applications,the management of maps database will be fully reflected practical in the geoscience field.With the development and application of system in-depth, it will be gradually reflected in its scientific, effectiveness and usefulness.
