Based on the dynamic movement of user, high dynamic GPS satellite signal simulator can generate accurate signals the user's GPS receiver receive, fully simulate kinds of complicated environment the GPS receivers encounter in the course of the user's movement, and provide reality simulation signals for the GPS receiver. So GPS simulators are used for functional testing, precision identification of measurement and simulation of target movement characteristics of GPS receivers. High GPS receivers generally apply to aircrafts, rockets, spacecrafts and other carriers. Because their experimental conditions and the environments are restricted to costs, cycles and other elements, high dynamic GPS simulators are essential to research and develop high dynamic GPS receivers. Domestic research on GPS simulator is later than overseas research, but it has made progress. Because of the sensitivity of the technology and complexity, there are few open literatures. So developing our own high dynamic GPS simulators is of great significance.The author participates in the cooperation project of GPS receivers between the School of Information and Communication Engineering in BUPT and some department. Mainly, the author engages in research of high dynamic GPS satellite signal simulator, development for its base-band digital signal processing in FPGA and hardware testing.Firstly, the principle of GPS navigation is introduced, and its principle of determining user's position, velocity and time by the pseudo-random code is highlighted. Secondly, relevant principles of GPS simulators are introduced. Thirdly, the author's work in the part of base-band digital signal processing of the GPS simulator is described. It includes design of system architecture in FPGA, design and development of key modules, analysis of key technologies and specific implementation in FPGA.
