In current thesis, the structure, stratum, reservoir, fluid property, oil-water distribution, oilfield dynamic characteristics of Block Fang 505-1 were comprehensively studied by collecting and analyzing the seismic, logging, well-logging, oil test and production test data in the context of its specific regional geological background. Based on these results, by integrating structure, sand body distribution, reservoir property, and sedimentary facies distribution, the favorable areas were selected. Finally, a development design was proposed based on practical geologic model and oilfield dynamic characteristics by using reservoir engineering and reservoir numerical simulation methods. This proposal has both theoretical and practical significance for economical and effective oil development in this area.Block Fang 505-1 is located in the northern Songfangtun Oilfield, and tectonically situated on the Songfangtun nose-like structure of Sanzhao Depression. There are more than 20 faults in this area, mostly north-south and north-west oriented, and with a small number of them north-east oriented. The Putaohua oil layer in this block is shallow in west and deep in east. Delta front facies and shore-shallow lake facies were developed in this area, including underwater distributary channel, mouth bar, sheet sand, underwater interdistributary bay. The distribution of sand in this block is uneven, thicker in north and south-west, and contiguously spread; the reservoir permeability is heterogeneous:P14 and P17 have better permeability rate, and little-varying porosity. In this block, the distribution of different layers vertically is that oil at the up and water at the bottom. The oil and gas are stored in single sand body as a storage unit of each block in this area. The lithology-fault reservoir is composed of many small reservoirs with unified oil-water interface. It is true that the reservoir water absorbing ability in well-developed Songfangtun Oilfield can basically meet the needs of oilfield development, but the natural energy of Block Fang 505-1 is not sufficient. As a result, it is not appropriate to develop this area with an approach using natural energy. In order to gain more economic benefits, artificial methods to supply energy have to be used. Based on these studies, a development plan is generated by studying development formation division, development well pattern, productivity prediction, oil and water well working system, etc. The successful generation of this plan will provide a scientific foundation for the future development in this area.
