Study On Historical Development And Industrial Situation Of Ready-to-Wear

The thesis analyzes the style, regularity and industrial situation of ready-to-wear at the point of historical development of ready-to-wear which take an important part in world apparel economy. Thereby, we can more comprehensively understand the effect of design,style,industrial production,trends and marcket of ready-to-wear in apparel industry.The thesis analyzes the changes of fashion styles of different fashion designers and the development of apparel industry in different nations throughout the history from the 19th to 20th century The thesis includes 5 chapters . Chapter 1&2 introduce the condition of European(Paris) haute couture and early time ready-to-wear before 1950's . At the turn of the 20th century ,haute couture was the main tread of fashion in the society, while ready-to-wear industry hadn't been formed. History proves that the design and style of haute couture have significant effect on subsequent ready-to-wear. Chapter 3 suggests the development of ready-to-wear and the developing apparel industry of America and Europe from 1960's to 1970's . With the pace of modernization of social civilization accellerating continuesly , ready-to-wear is bound to be the choice in social life .The apparel industries of America , Italy and Britain were gradually formed . Chapter 4 recommends the ripe global apparel industry from 1980's to 1990's.The styles of ready-to-wear and representative fashion designers are suggested during this period.And the successful experiences of Ameican and Italian apparel industry are analyzed,which is worthy of refference for us.Chapter 5 presents the basic condition and a lot of problems of our national current apparel industry. Moreover,the development strategy of our national apparel industry is summarized. As a theoretical research conclusion of the thesis, the thesis summarizies that the evolution of ready-to-wear is the ceitainty of historical development and our national apparel industry which contrasts to that of America and Europe must attach great importance to lots of problems. We can take advantage of entering into WTO to devote major efforts to developing our national apparel industry in the future.The thesis examplifies the styles and fashion designers of different nations during these periods. 126 pictures of clothing and 13 statistical tables of apparel industry are attatched in the thesis. The study on historical development and industrial situation of ready-to-wear contributes to our understanding of ready-to-wear and its development regularity. Drawing lessons from history, we can present problems,analyze problems and furthermore solve problems in the future.Lots of original work in English were read. And I will try to work hard, make efforts to explore continuously in the aspect of'ready-to-wear'.
