Jinchuan Co. is the maximal metallurgical enterprise of producing nickel in China and is at the eighth place in the world. It produces cathode coppers except nickel products because of the coexistence of nickel-copper. Its productive process is particular, the raw material is the second copper concentrate, so anode nickel content is high (Ni 0.6~0,8%), copper is low (Cu 98.9%).It exists some questions that copper plate is too thin, the surface agglomerate grains are so many and the surface is oxided easily in the productive process of Jinchuan Co. In this paper, the author analyses what has been discussed above.The surface quality of cathode copper is a system matter and has many influent factors, such as anode plate quality, starting sheet quality, bath composition, additive kinds and fashions, temperature of electrolysis, electrolyte circulation, electrolyte purification, anode slime, cathode cleaning quality, the last products storage and so on. In this thesis, the author summarizes the status quo, development, and many factors of productive technology of high purity cathode copper and how to affect the surface quality and chemical composition of cathode copper, it brings forward valid measures to improve the surface quality of cathode copper by controlling additive and connected technical conditions.In order to make clear that additive of thiourea and gelatin etc how to affect surface quality of cathode copper, in this paper, some research has been done as follows: different combinations of additive of thiourea and gelatin etc, different electrolysis conditions and so on, it was put forward that increasing current density, changing additive components and rations, and starting sheet quality etc what has definite practical significations to improve the cathode copper surface quality.
