The project is an important research that is the combination of information construction with new product development for Chongqing Machine Tool Works,and it can innovate traditional product design by means of information technology. In the project CNC gear hobbing machines have been successfully developed by virtual prototyping technology,then the good social and economic benefits are obtained.Product features and development status are analyzed in the article. Because the time to market has become a key factor that influences competitive power of the enterprise,the traditional design method can not meet the requirements of global competition,The problems of the enterprise-oriented can be solved by Virtual Manufacturing.Tracking & researching domestic and foreign virtual manufacturing technology,and combining with the enterprise situation,An architecture of engineering of digitalization for CNC gear hobbing machine is presented. The key enabling technology for Virtual Prototyping are studied,. The architecture of the network is put forward. Integrating with the professional knowledge and experiences for gear hobbing machines,the coding system and 3D cased-base of the products is built. According to optimizing design process,and by the application of virtual product developing,the 3D digital prototype for CNC gear hobbing machine is established,and the further the interference inspection for assembling can be carried out,and further the finite element analysis for the rigidity of the key components is carried out to ensure the machine's accuracy;so the problems during product design can be found out in time,then optimizing design can be provided to ensure success of the model at a time.According to the situation of the enterprise,the solutions to the digitalization engineering are provided for the CNC gear hobbing machine,so as to improve design quality of the products,reduce costs and development cycle of the products to strengthen the competitive power of the enterprise.
