High precision Lead Frame material KFC is the key material to make integrated circuits (IC), and it has massive development space in China. The traditional production route is semi-continuous casting, billets hot rolling and high precision cold rolling. Thus some considerable disadvantages of this traditional technology are unavoidable, they include :long process , low finished product rates and huge equipment investments. In this paper the manufacturing methods of Lead frame material KFC strip by horizontalcontinuous casting and high precision cold rolling are studied. The productiontechnology and some important process parameters are determined byexperiments, which can eliminate the harmful gases and impurities by changing process and adding grain refining additives, thus the crystal grains of the cast strips can be greatly fined, the strength and compactness can be improved. As a result, the problems of longitudinal cracks, gases bearing and coarse grains in KFC production could be solved so that the production of Lead Frame material could be ensured.
