It takes Wuliangsuhai lake in Wulate banner of Bayannur league as demostration tostudy the evolution tendency of plant-type lake in dry land area. On the base of the history data and experimental data, controlling points selected in Wuliangsuhai on April 12th of 2003 have been dealt with the method of Cluster Analysis, which use projection pursuit classification evaluation model based on real coding accelerating genetic algorithm (RAGA), and the areas of different degree of pollution which relate with aquatic plant, water depth, the position of inlet and outlet can be seen from chart distinctly. Remote Sensing technology has many advantages, such as wide area covering, short cycles time, good accuracy and so on. At the same time, continuous Landsat ETM/TM data from 1986 to 2002 have been got, so we choose six representative years to predict the changes of Wuliangsuhai lake environment using the 3S integrated theory. It is necessary to translate the original data of Remote Sensing into the format which we can use as soon as they have been got, otherwise, they can never be used due to all kinds of influential factor, for example, atmospheric scattering, vignetting effects, instrument scanning, radiance and reflectance etc. After all corrections have been done, we can build the suspended solid (SS) density model and water depth model by regression equation using experimental values and reflectance values. At last, Geographic Information System is used to display de overlay of different years to display the alteration of area and depth. In a word, all things serve for the recover of the Wuliangsuhai lake system.
