Laser phase transformation hardening process is affected by many factors. At present, the parameters of laser processing are chosen mainly by experiment and through experience. Numerical simulation in laser phase transformation hardening process is significant for studying mechanism and optimizing parameters of laser transformation hardening.In this paper, the laser phase transformation hardening process is studied, and a three-dimension temperature field model of finite size plate model for FEM(finite element method) analysis is established. The numerical simulation software named Qiujie is developed, which is based on the model and the finite element equation of temperature field educed form the principle of FEM. The result of experiment shows that the software is reliable and practical.The process of laser hardening, through GCrlS steel, is simulated and studied with the software, including the distribution rule of temperature field and the harden layer, the effect of the thickness of workpiece and the boundary condition of lower surface. The results show that the thickness and the boundary condition of lower surface have significant effect. The expressions of the relations among laser power, scanning speed, and harden layer, peak temperature are obtained.
