Screening technology is regarded as one of the key technologies in the printing technics and directly influences the printing quantity and speed. The research targets are to give a new screening type and improve the variable information printing quality and speed, provide its development with technologies. Such a research can provide printing company with great benefits and has important effect in national economy's development.The main research methods are: (1)Theory analysis:from the 2D(Dimension) plane geometry analysis, dots continuity characteristics are found. The first time irrational fraction algorithm is used in FM(Frequency Modulation) program. (2)Experiments reaearch:experiments of condition halftone function are designed under the cross-experiment principles. The first time variable information printer and C# language are used in experiment. (3)Data processing:new type digital density apparatus is used to measure data. Compare is used in processing data and error cause are explained.The main works as follows:(l)The dot area percentage has been gained and new condition halftone function has been set up. (2)After being corrected, speed of irrational fraction algorithm has been compared withmultiplicative congruence algorithm's. Random counts characteristics have been also tested. Besides this.FM screening program has been completed. (3)According to the FM screening principles, 8X8 area was selected as halftone cell template based on calculated result.Experiments results have been shown : (1)It was convenienter in operating the condition halftion function and the average numerical of density difference where gradation-joining happening was reduced to 0.01275. (2)The speed of creating random series used irrational fraction arithmetic was faster than that of multiplicative congruence arithmetic. The correlative value of random series almost was zero. (3) Regarding not harm the images quality as the premise, the speed of FM screening was heightened.
