The mining gateway of fully mechanized sublevel caving face is under the complex stress condition, such as dynamic stress generated by gateway driving and mining stress by the two related working faces extraction.On account of this, it is great important to conduct the research on the stability of mining gateways.The author studied on the subject of mining gateway stability.The main contents and reseach achievement are summerized as follows:Firstly,by using the method of numerical simulation,the advancing process of the working face is simulated,and the stress develeping regulation for the gob and its side direction coalbody is studied.The paper derives the conclusion that the core zone of vertical stress for coal pillars moved upward till reaching to the height of non-caving rock strata with the working face advancing and caving height increasing.And the variation of horizontal stress is minor.Secondly,by using the method of numerical simulation,the author conducts the detailed research on side directional bearing pressure for fully mechamized subleval caving face,and obtains the regulation that three factors,i.e.mining deoth,coal body strength and coal seam thickness determine the stability of side-directionalcoal seam.The formular to caculate the protective coal pillar is provided in the paper.Thiredly,by using the method of numerical simulation,the author studies on the stability of gateway of fully mechanized sublevel caving face,and obtains the regulation that three factors,i.e.mining depth,coal body strength and cable length influence the stability of the side directional gateways.Finally,by using the method of similar material simulation,the subjects on determining the resonable pillar width and mechanism of cabling action is futher studied.
