Establishing The EMS In Small And Medium Size Enterprises And Economic Benefit Analysis

Small and medium enterprises(SMEs) play an very important role in our economy and their sustainable development is vital to the overall economicy performance of our country. At the same time, the enviromental issue is more and more frequently used as a new type of trade barriers in the competition of international market. In order to adopt to these changes and the trend of consumption, enterprises scattered around the world endeavor themselves to the establishment and implementation of enviroment management system. In China, state-owned enterprises(SOEs), wholly foreign-owned enterprises,Sino-foreign joint ventures and enterprises with Sino-foreign cooperation all take an active attitude to the enviroment management .But in contrast,small and medium size enterprises.despite of their importance, rarely take measures to tackle this issue in respect of their lack of fund .management and awareness. In this article, the current situation of overall management and especially the enviroment management adopted in those enterprises ,as well as the so called 'the green crisis' inflicted on them.are presented in details .It also addresses the development process of enviroment management system in China and abroad .Then, it lists the steps on how to establish the enviroment management system in SMSEs .Finally ,it compares the differences in the fields such as management ,product cost, production circle and quality level before and after the implemention of ISO14000 in Sichuan Zhubiao Construction Materials Co.Ltd to testify the importance and the establishment feasibity of enviroment management system in SMSEs.
