It is prone to spontaneous combustion of coal in the China. The self-fire affects seriously on the safety production of coal and results in the lots of losses of the resources and economic. The spontaneous combustion of coal comes into being the heat of coal oxidation under the aptitude oxygen and heat preservation conditions. But it is fully known up to now for the complexity of the oxidation process and limitation of the research method. So it is important signification to study the spontaneous combustion mechanism of coal and built the prediction theory of coal spontaneous combustion. The method of the theory and the experiments is adopted in this paper. First, according to the contrast analysis of groups in the on the surface coal molecule, the seven active groups is got. The structure of the coal molecule will be changed, because the bonds is parted under the conditions of high temperature. And then the micro-mechanism will be understand. Second, Based on the thermogravitymetrey experiments of Huating coal sample, the cures of weightlessness and weightlessness speed are analyzed. And the characteristic and critical temperature points of Huating coal are got. The influence relation between the characteristic temperature and the oxygen and coal size is found. Finally, according to contrast other experiments, the reasons producing characteristic temperature is analyzed and the results can well reflect the process of coal oxidation. It is signification to control self-fire at large.
