Landfill leachate contains a variety of pollutants such as organicmatter, ammonia, heavy metals, which are high in concentration and oftenchange with time, weather etc.. These lead to the difficulty in treatingleachate from landfill and pose adverse impact on environment. This study was carried out to investigate the feasibility of three kindsof integrated biological and physi-chemical treatment technologies intreating leachate from landfill site of Liulitun in Beijing. The technologiesare "Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Bed (UASB)+Sequencing Batch Reactor(SBR)", "SBR+ coagulating", and "SBR+ coagulating+ adsorpting". Theresults showed that the "UASB+SBR" process could remove 74.2% COD,87.9% BOD5, and 93.5% NH3-N, respectively; the "SBR+ coagulating"process could remove 82.5%COD, 80.4% BOD5, 92.35% NH3-N, and80%,color index, respectively; The "SBR+ coagulating + adsorpting"process was able to remove 95.8%COD, 87.4% BOD5, and 99.9% colorindex , respectively, the concentration of NH3-N below 10.1mg/L。 Compared to other processes tested, "SBR+ coagulating+ adsorpting"reached highest pollutant removal efficiency, therefore, is recommendedfor landfill leachate treatment.
