| Fashion CAD technology combines garment design with high-tech. It is an important application of computer science and technology in fashion design realm. Since the entry of WTO of our country, middle or small fashion enterprises have encountered more opportunities and challenges. The fierce competition and the frequent fluxion of designers influence the establishment of fashion brand. It is necessary to explore an intelligent fashion pattern design system which integrates the designers' idea and the design technique, but there is still no mature system for such a system.My assignment, the intelligent style-based garment pattern structure design system is the sub-project of the national key project "Fashion Design and Digital Information Research". It is designed for non-professionals or amateur designers to finish the design work through simple human-computer operation, which was traditionally handmade by professional designers. My thesis presents the structure of the system, completes the human-computer interface design, provides the algorithms of the fitting-up and the modification of garment parts, and makes a probe into the search method based upon fashion style.All in all, the main work of the thesis contains as follows. We have summarized the development and status quo of fashion CAD both inside and outside, therefore pointed out that the system for fashion design is still not mature enough to accelerate the manufacture of garment. While analyzing the requirements of garment market of China, we know it is necessary to develop the system for intelligent fashion design.According to the attributes of fashion design, a certain piece of garment can be divided into four parts which include collar, piece of body, sleeve, pants or skirt. The process of style design can be simplified as the combination of fashion parts. B3 spline and reversed B3 spline is adopted to construct the outer figure of fashion parts. Meanwhile, mathematical descriptions of the graphical parts are brought forward, the key points and key lines which make up of the garment parts are defined to support the fitting-up of fashion parts and the regulation for parts unitingare established. All these have prepared a good foundation for the later design.With the overall analysis of the intelligent garment pattern design system and the combination of cognitive engineering, a handsome alternating human-computer interface is designed entirely with VC++.The algorithms designed to fit up the graphic garment parts are most focused in this paper. Fashion design, which belongs to the artistic category has the uncertainty and diversity, and in addition, fashion styles are truly various, so it is hard to find a perfect algorithm to suit all kinds of parts integration. Considering all these, 1 made an analysis through a great deal of fashion parts in distinct types so as to find out the structure relationships between them, to classify and sum up the rigging-up situations. According to these situations, different fitting-up algorithms are worked out and applied to solve different problems so that different sorts of clothes parts can be combined intelligently to form a new fashion style. Special methods are raised up to settle the special parts-connecting problems. Generally speaking, with the algorithms the graphic clothes parts can be meshed with each other freely and the users can search the clothes parts they want and piece them together to get their own fashion styles. Besides, it also provides intelligent adjusting function for users to modify the details of the fashion pattern.With the new idea of "graphic unit construction" and "function simulation", regular and irregular garment accessories can be drawn on the B3-Spline curve. Depicted with adjustable parameters, garment accessories can be magnified, dwindled and rotated .The digital realization breaks the traditional manual ways of garment accessories' design.The pattern search method is based on style.
