Research And Application Of Rectangular Garment Parttern Based On Zero Waste Design Concept

Zero waste in fashion means eliminating as much textile waste as possible from clothing production.In the garment industry,about 15-20% of the fabric is discarded,which not only wastes natural and social resources,but also causes a series of subsequent disposal problems and pollution problems.Therefore,"zero waste" in fashion design is particularly critical.To fight this waste,a new movement,Zero Waste fashion,is sweeping the fashion world.A number of designers with their own brands have taken up the challenge to join the movement and create distinctive,fashion-forward zero waste clothing.Zero waste pattern design improves the inherent cutting method at the present stage,reduces waste fabric,increases the utilization rate of fabric,practices zero waste fashion,and promotes sustainable fashion development by exquisitely dividing and arranging fabrics.This topic through the zero waste clothing and rectangular cut piece of clothing,the history of using rectangular pattern for zero waste of ancient and modern,Chinese and foreign design works of designers and study and summary,rectangular pattern for zero waste design practice to provide design method,using the method of comparative experiments prove the feasibility of rectangular pattern design of zero waste.Under the premise of zero waste,ensure that the amount of fabric is not higher than conventional cutting.According to the previous research,the modeling rules of zero waste pattern of rectangular garment cutting pieces are summarized and applied.The application of rectangular garment cutting pieces in zero waste design concept is summarized as wrapping,draping,folding and splicing.It introduces the rules of each method in the form of cases,and combines consumer demand and fashion trend of women’s clothing to carry out innovative design and physical production.At the same time,through the process of graduation design practice and creation,the modeling law of rectangular garment cutting zero waste pattern is verified,and the combination of zero waste design and production practice is further promoted.
