With the development of new and high technologies, such as information technology, computer technology, modern electronic technology, etc., especially the popularization and application of the computer technology, the on-line inspection technique of the machining center is being developed thereupon. The on-line inspection technique of the machining center is one of the key technologies of improving the machining accuracy and the automatic degree of the machining center, and it is the key technology of the computer aided quality control (CAQC) in the CIMS.The path planning and the simulation technologies of machining center on-line inspection are studied in the thesis. The path planning of machining center on-line inspection is the crucial point that determines to inspect efficiency and precision, the simulation can verify the inspecting path. On the basic of studying on inspecting features of parts thoroughly, the inspecting path planning method and the model based on the inspecting features are brought forward and the simulation of inspecting process is carried on in the thesis. Utilize object oriented on-line inspection programming technology, with VC ++6.0 and Access platform, a set of programming rational, convenient, powerful on-line inspection and simulation system for machining center has been developed, which can meet various inspecting demands for different parts.The research contents of this thesis are as follows:1. The current situation analysis and achievements of the domestic and international machining center on-line inspection technique are studied.2. Aimed at the machining center on-line inspection technique, the inspecting features of parts are proposed, classified and expressed.3. According to the classification of the inspecting features, the inspecting path planning method and model based on the inspecting features are brought forward.4. On the basic of further investigation path planning of the machining center on-line inspection, the inspection database of machining center on-line inspection is set up.5. The system of the machining center on-line inspection and simulation is designed overallly. The automatic programming and simulation system integrating with parameter typeassignment programming and figure programming is developed, the system has realized to automatic programming for different machining centers, different probes and different parts and simulation of inspecting process.
