Nowadays, in plastic injection molding, stack molding with hot runner system is another advanced technology with benefits of boosting productivity and quality of parts, making better use of available injection machines and saving energy. In order to apply and popularize this technology in our country, on the basis of having received researches, this project has carried out some theory analysis and developed a double-faced stack mold, which can easily be turned into a single-face mold according to production task. To verify the economic and technologic feasibility of the stack molding with hot runner system, the author has put it into practice and done some industrialized experiments to research its function, compared with conventional single-face mold.As the results show, the double output, an increase in production efficiency of 78% and a great decrease of waste material can be achieved when the stack mold is employed and the injection machine is required to increase 10% to 15% in clamp force. Besides, injection pressure, injection rate and cycle time are also increased a little.
