Injection molding is an important industrial process for the manufacturing of thermoplastic products and is suitable for producing plastic products with complex shape and accurate dimensional request. With the development of computer software and hardware, injection plastic mould CAE has achieved tremendous achievements. The defects can be discovered before mould is manufactured by using CAE software.This changes the traditional way that depends on experience and intuition to test and modify mould over and over.In this paper, a deep research on runner design and gate design and so on in the injection molding process is done by making use of CAE software. And effectively improve the main bug of the injection mold design for wheels of minicar.The main content of the study is composed of the four following respects:Firstly, not only the technology of the injection molding and injection plastic mould CAE but also the development situation of injection plastic mould CAE and flow simulation are introduced summarily.Secondly, flow simulation theory of injection plastic mould is introduced, mathematical model of flow process is established, and obtain easier mathematics model of numerical value solution, and realize that some physical variable how to affect molding technology.Thirdly, the paper analyzes and sets forth the theories and methods of runners design and gate design. According to polymer rheology, the application of flow analysis based on CAE to the design of injection plastic mould including runner system design and gate design.Then, one of main missions of melt flow simulation is to predict the defaults in the injection molding process.This paper expatiated the main bug of the injection mold design for wheels of minicar by the numbers.At last, this paper analyze the temperature field of the runner, find out the relationship of the size of runner and the melt temperature and explain the reason why the weld line is improved.The conclusions are drawn form the research as follows:firstly, how to utilize CAE to solve actual problem, for engineer, it is effective way to understand the physical purport of CAE results and the results come into being the influence on mould design. Injection molding process simulation is a productivity tool for the processor. It can accessibly provide maximal clamp, maximal injection pressure, melt front, weld line and air trapes. Then improve the mold design pertinently.
