Nowadays, the competition of energy resources has become the hot spot of international rivalship. Along with the rapid development of national economy and the prosperity of energy industry, a strategic position has been endowed to the oil industry. The application of information technology has attached revolutionary significance to the improvement of the oil exploration, data application and management as well. Gaosheng Oil Extraction Factory, an important manufacture base of Liaohe Oil-field, is playing a leading role in the informational construction among all oil fields. As a result of its frequent oil-well construction, it is urgent to build a modern construction design system. The system is of great significance to the increase in the oil output and the decrease in the operating costs, while it is making contributions to the promotion of the informationalization and the acceleration of internationalization of oil industry.The opening oil and water well construction design system investigated in this paper roots in a real project developed for Gaosheng Oil Extraction Factory in Liaohe Oil-field. An executing framework for user application is implemented at the client end, with the realization of template-based opening online design. End users are in charge of writing and maintaining the inconstant code open to them, such as templates and chart elements. Contrarily, the immutable infrastructure such as control of the entire process, remote data access, and histogram drawing, is implemented by the system itself. This architecture ensures the opening to end users, high performances and steadiness of the whole system. According to the principle "high cohesion, loosely coupling", some new technologies such as dependency injection and aspect oriented programming are adopted in the server-end design. This design succeeds in solving the tightly-coupling problem between dominative and extra-essential business logic, and in complete opening of system expansion, maintenance and upgrade. Furthermore, a template-based data access framework is implemented to solve the problems of tightly coupling with bottom DBMS, code redundancy, poor readability, and difficult transplantation, in application programming using low level API, such as ODBC, ADO.NET. Consequently, the opening of data platform is realized.With an advanced architecture, the entire Opening Oil and Water Well Construction Design System is open to end users, who can take an active role in system modification and maintenance. Thus the cost of software system maintenance is prominently reduced. This type of framework and design method is of great value to application development in other fields.Since August, 2004 when the system was commenced in the formal environment, it has been receiving high praises from all sides of the Gaoshen Oil Extraction Factory and constructors.
