Sauce with long history is a kind of traditional fermented condiment. At present sauceproducing area lie mainly in China, Japan, Singapore and Korea. Statistics shows that 1 tonsauce product will consume 7~10 tons water i.e.1 ton sauce product bring out 6~9 tons saucewastewater. About 50,000,000 tons sauce wastewater need to be treated annually in China.Compared with municipal wastewater, sauce wastewater is more dangerous to environmentand difficult to be treated. The sauce wastewater treatment technology with the advantages ofhigh efficiency and low consumption becomes active demand. According to economical and available principle, this process treats the mixture of saucewastewater and sewage simultaneously. In this research, I study the performance of gravelstuffing and pay attention to sludge reduction. At the same time, sewage and sauce wastewaternature, stuffing and biological membrane cultivating conditions are investigated in this study.The research indicates that adopting the process biological contact oxidation between gravels,sewage with a mixing ratio at 25% of sauce wastewater, the reactor temperature keeping at 28℃, COD removal rate of raw wastewater is 95.5%,SS removal rate is 93.8%and almost allNH3-N is removed. And all indexes meet the requirements of national first-level standard.And when mixing with sewage, chromaticity color of the effluent from reactor can becontrolled under 20 multiples. The process realizes sludge reduction and sludge return anddisposal equipments can be saved. The study shows that the process biological contact oxidation between gravels canremove COD and chromaticity color from sauce wastewater effectively and realize sludgereduction. This technology is a new and economical sauce wastewater treatment process,which can satisfy the demand of sauce industry wastewater treatment in our country.
