In the design and analysis of domestic metallurgical facility, the traditional static strength is still mostly used. In the last ten years, fatigue analysis theory has gained considerable development, and has already been widely applied to the aviation, spaceflight, shipping, bridge and automobile fields, and has obtained remarkable achievements. This paper focuses on how to apply the fatigue analysis on the metallurgical facility so as to improve the level of metallurgical facility design and manufacture.This paper focuses on ladle turret's fatigue analysis, describes the application of fatigue analysis theory to metallurgical facilities. This paper first analyzes the working condition of ladle turret, and defined the finite element computation of ladle turret and load-time history of fatigue analysis. Using ADAMS, the dynamic response of ladle turret's supporting arm is confirmed, which helps to get the dynamic response coefficient, hence successfully setting up the load-time history of ladle turret's supporting arm. Using MSC.FATIGUE, this paper makes a static finite element analysis on ladle turret's parts under different working condition. Furthermore, this paper makes re-analysis on the part with the largest load, the ladle turret's supporting arm, with substructure theory, which efficiently improves the accuracy of the analysis on key parts. During the fatigue analysis on ladle turret's supporting arm, based on the fatigue characteristic data curve of domestic 16Mn, the use of Goodman theory makes a non-zero stress revise, which helps to set up the supporting arm's fatigue characteristic curve. At the end of this paper, using MSC.FATIGUE, the supporting arm's fatigue life is predicted, and the life time of ladle turret is predicted based on annual production, which achieves the research objective.It is a new project to analyze the ladle turret's strength life with modern fatigue analysis method. In this paper, through analyzing and studying the ladle turret's strength, the modern fatigue analysis method is applied to metallurgical facilities, which provides a new thinking in metallurgical facilities' design and manufacture.
