This paper introduces the EPC electro-hydraulic servo system. This EPC system is one of the Taiyuan Iron and Steel (GROUP) CO.,LTD's technical reformation program.EPC (Edge Position Control),applied in rolling mill, is designed to realize the control in tension, position, thickness and speed ,etc.This EPC system, which is designed in my paper ,make up by photoelectric sensor, PLC, hydraulic equipment and a roller that is used to rectify deviation. The EPC's work flow is shown as follows: At first the photoelectric sensor adopts the position signal, then the signal is dealt with by Siemens S7-200 and amplified for the hydraulic equipment to stand, at last the roller which is controlled by the hydraulic equipment rectifies a deviation according as thetreated signal. The design of the systematic hardware is divided into some of hydraulic pressure and electric part. Hydraulic pressure design includes selecting the component's type and setting up the whole hydraulic pressure system. Electric design includes selecting the type of the PLC and drawing the enlarge circuit. The design of the system's software includes the programming Of PLC and the MATLAB artificial software SIMULINK.After recommending hydraulic pressure system and electric system's main structure and concrete content, this paper have analysed the control performance of the whole system especially and corresponding proposed the Fuzzy PID control algorithm.Systematic emulation and industrial test are proved: Fuzzy PID control method has improved systematic control performance greatly.
