High Speed Cutting has advantages of high speed, high efficiency and high precision, has been widely applied in many mechanical manufacturing, such as aviation, spaceflight, automobile and die. The popularization of High Speed Cutting must be based on High Speed Cutting cutter. Special performance is required for High Speed Cutting cutter, which is different from general speed cutting. Today, the cutter market is monopolized by foreign famous cutter manufacturers, which restrict the development of HSM of us. We should imbibe the advanced technology from foreign manufacturer, and design our own cutter product to meet the market need. In order to enhance the efficiency and quality of cutter's, reduce the cost, shorten the periods, we must adopt advanced efficient means. The thesis does a research on the high speed end milling cutter and parametric design system, which based on the mechanism of high speed cutting, high speed cutter technology. The main studies include: With the study of structure of high speed milling cutter, the general design principia and solution for high speed cutter has been put forward. Based on the dynamic balancing theory, the model of imbalance for high speed cutter has been founded. The calculate method of tolerance and design rev has been put forward. With the use of Behavioral Modeler of Pro/E, the adjustment strategy of imbalance for high speed end milling cutter has been accomplished, and the grade of balancing has been estimated, which provide theory for the design of balancing adjustment mechanism. According to the forecast of remnant imbalance of high speed end milling cutter, the method for the control of imbalance and solution for enhance of imbalance grade have been put forward, during the process of design, manufacturing, and test of cutter. Two types of indexing milling cutter has been designed by the author. Aiming at the trait of the different machining condition for the high speed indexing milling cutter designed, the author carried out a project of FEM. The stress, strain, and displacement of component of the cutters have been simulated under different rotate speeds in ANSYS. The safety of the designed high speed cutting cutter has been estimated, which assures the special safety requirement for the high speed cutter. Lastly, a parametric design system for high speed end milling tools has been developed with the use of Pro/TOOLKIT. The system has advantages of well manipulated, quickly capability of parametric design of high speed milling cutter, shortens the period of development. With the use of the parametric system, several types of high speed end milling cutter have been designed. The development of high speed milling cutter and parametric design system provide firm base for the further research of high speed cutter product.
