The roll's thermal crown is an important influence factor for the strip profile.With the development of the strip shape control technology, it is more significant to research on roll thermal deformation as one of the important area of hot rolling strip shape control system. Howeverever,it is difficult to establish general model of roll thermal crown because the hot rolling process is perfectly complicated and the roll thermal deformation is changed slowly with time and the boundary condition is intricate,so it is an difficulty for strip shape control technology to predict the roll thermal deformation well and truly while hot rolling. Therefore, the reseach on mathematical model of work roll's thermal crown has important value of the theory and practice.According to heat transfer theory, associated with the practical practice of 1780mm hot roll strip in some plant in China and based on overall analysis of the roll's quantity of heat transfer, mathematical equations of the coefficient of heat conduction in the roll, the coefficient of heat transfer of air and cooling water, quantity of heat inputting the roll have been deduced. Moreover the roll two-dimension unsteady state's temperature fields, originated from the energy conservation law and equations of heat conduction and work roll's thermal crown, have been established. And the program of off-line simulation for roll thermal crown has been developed. Using the simulation program, the influencing factors of work-roll's thermal deformation have been analyzed and some coherent conclusions have been drawn.The results of the research work were described as follows.(1) The on-line control program of 1780mm roll's thermal crown has been digested systematically;(2) The off-line simulation program of the work roll's thermal crown has been...
