The background of the thesis is based on the 40-Ton electric arc furnace computer control system of the Dust Metallurgy Factory of Anlong Steel Group. The historic and present state and perspective of control techniques of electric arc furnace are summarized based on a great deal of references. Based on the research of smelting technics and furnace state, this thesis gives an EAF state judgement method based on expert system.Since the EAF hearth temperature can't be continuously measured, this thesis introduces an indirect method to judge the EAP state. The EAF state can be divided into normal state(ignite arc, insert well, main melting, rising temperature) and abnormal state(belly superheater, cover superheater, pole break ). Because of the EAF smelting process is very complex, this thesis uses the expert system to judge the state. The fuzzy logic chaining is used in the EAF expert system.The EAF expert system is implemented and some simulations are carried out. The simulation results show the effectiveness and practicability of the proposal method.
