The process and electrochemical properties of the electroless deposition Co-Fe-B alloy film with rare earth joined were studied. The basic formulation and optimum formulation of process of electroless deposition Co-Fe-B alloys were designed and tested using perpenpular method. The electrochemical properties and effect of concents on plating rate were measured. The structure and micromo-rphology were observed. Different kinds of rare earth elements were added to electroless deposition Co-Fe-B alloy coating. The effect of RE on electrochemical properties and plating rate were measured. The mechanism of action and influence mode on the process, structure and properties of Co-Fe-B alloy coating were discussed in order to obtain the electroless deposition cobalt-base alloy film with excellent over-all soft magnetic properties. The results showed that the cobalt ion and iron ion were cobeposited in Co-Fe-B alloy, and the polarizability of cobeposition was small than that of ion deposited simple; The oxidation reduction reaction was accelerated by the increase of concentration of sodium tartrate;with the increase of concentration of ethylenediamine , the oxidation reaction was accelerated and the reduction reaction was inhibited; The reduction reaction was accelerated in the law concentration of selenious acid and inhibited in the high concentration, and the oxidation reaction was on the opposite; The deposition potential of RE was shuffled with complexing agent and matrix; The plating rate was increased and the polarizability of cathode polarization curve was minished with the rare earth elements RE added. The component analysis shows that the rare earth elements RE was in cobalt-base alloys and with the increased of RE the content of Co, Ce in alloy increases and the content of Fe,B decreases. The structure of alloys changes into microcrystalline from amorphous. The crystal grains are thin and the structure is homogeneous. The rare earth elements improve the microhardness and the corrosion resistance of Co- Fe -B alloys. Electroless deposition Co-Fe-B alloys have excellent soft magnetic properties and the soft magnetic properties improved with an amount of Ce joined.
