Pupa protein-viscose fiber is a kind of regenerated fiber that is composed of two ingredients and it was developed in china at recently years. The materials of Pupa protein-viscose fiber is pupa protein and natural wooden that are both can be grown again, that means for the rules of green environment. Pupa protein-viscose fiber is one of new fiber that is produced with the method of wet, and this fiber is composed of 30% pupa protein and 70% viscose. Pupa protein was originally out of date after peeling cocoons and taking out silk, and this point is important to come true the objective of continuing development. The color of Pupa protein-viscose fiber is golden-yellow, and there are 18 kinds of amino acid, which can protect skin. Pupa protein-viscose fiber has the strong points of silk and viscose, its hygroscopic properties and dyeing properties are both better than these properties of silk fiber.This paper studies on physical properties and chemical properties and structure properties of Pupa protein-viscose fiber mostly. Firstly we studythe routine physical flexible properties (breakage strength) of Pupa protein-viscose fiber and the influence of heat and dry to these properties. Finds that the relatively slippage between big molecules of the fiber is the most important cause of Pupa protein-viscose fiber breakage mechanism, which is similar to that of viscose. The ingredient of protein is distributed in the uncrystalline region of Pupa protein-viscose fiber.Secondly, researches the degree of polymerization (DP) of Pupa protein-viscose fiber and the influence of oxidant (Hydrogen peroxide) and reducing agent (rongalite) to DP of this fiber. Finds that the value of this fiber's DP is in the region of the value of viscose's DP.Through the research to Pupa protein-viscose fiber's swelling and moisture absorption properties before and after different process, studies the micro structure of Pupa protein-viscose fiber, finds that the uncrystalline region of Pupa protein-viscose fiber is a little bigger than that of viscose, and that Pupa protein is distributed in the uncrystalline region of Pupa protein-viscose fiber as the form of grain.To conform that we watch the cross section and vertical section of Pupa protein-viscose fiber before and after proceeding with the liquor of sodium hydroxide with scan electron microscope (SEM) , and finds that it is true that Pupa protein is distributed in the uncrystalline region of Pupa protein-viscose fiber as the form of grain, and that it is not true that pupa protein is distribute in the surface of the fiber. This distribution of pupaprotein in Pupa protein-viscose fiber has the influence to many properties of Pupa protein-viscose fiber. Many properties of Pupa protein-viscose fiber are similar to the properties of viscose because of this distribution.At last, studies the dyeing behavior of the acid dyes (less acid rubious) and reactive dye ( Drimarene Navy X—GN and Drimarene Yellow CL —2R) to Pupa protein-viscose fiber and viscose. We finds that the dyeing behavior of acid dye to Pupa protein-viscose fiber is similar to the behavior of the dye to silk, and that the dyeing behavior of reactive dye to Pupa protein-viscose fiber is similar to the behavior of the dye to viscose, which behavior is because of the structure of Pupa protein-viscose fiber.
