The pupa protein viscose (PPV) filament is a new regenerated protein fiber and blend with 70% of viscose and 30% of pupa protein, which has particular patent in the development of new chemical production. It is made from cross blending the extracting protein from the silkworm pupa by chemical method with viscose spinning dope under certain condition. The fiber surface is accumulated by protein, which forms the skin-corn structure. This fiber was obtained by utilizing the technology of polymer modification, chemical fiber spinning and biological engineering, which made the firm combination between viscose and pupa protein for the molecule grade combination. The filament has good moisture absorption, its physical properties could meet the demand of weaving, which has good weavability. The knitted fabric also has better air permeability, good drapability as well as wearability, similar moisture regain with viscose, which make it have good market prospect. But this filament presents golden color on the surface, it is difficult to be bleached, which directly affect the vividness of dyed fabric especially for pale shade fabric. The diversity of the production was restrictedThe development and significance of pupa protein in the textile material aspect was studied. The bleaching and dyeing of pupa protein viscose filament knitted fabric was investigated. Pupa protein-viscose filament/cotton knitted fabric is composed of three ingredients, which includes protein fiber and cellulose fiber. The scouring and bleaching of PPV and cotton blended knitted fabric should be paid more attention since the pupa protein on the surface filament would be hydrolyzed under basic condition. The single factor and orthogonal experiment were carried out to determine the scouring and bleaching effect. The effects of different technic factors on the drain value of protein, strength, capillary and whiteness of fabric were studied. The optimum scouring and bleaching technic was obtained. The dyeing craft and dyeing property of the pupa protein viscose filament/cotton knitted fabric using direct dyes and reactive dyes was studied, and its finishing technic was also introduced.
