The quality becomes the critical factor of the industrial products because ofthe fierce market competition. How to control and guarantee the quality of theproducts turns into the focus of manufacturing technique, including weldingmanufacturing technique. On the one hand, the development of computer andinformation technology is developing the degree of welding product automation ,and the other hand, it provides possibility for real-time monitoring , managing andon-line quality feeding back the welding production course. This paper researchesthe course of arc welding, analyzes several electric parameters in the weldingcourse, studies the on-line monitoring method, and tries to build networkingmonitoring flat to realize on-line monitoring and managing the quality of arcwelding.This paper develops on-line monitoring system of arc welding, and builds asuit of testing hardware based data sampling with Hall transducer. Based thehardware, develop the software by using LabVIEW. The system take PC as thehost computer, and peripheral equipment includes current Hall transducer, voltageHall transducer, A/D data sampling board and interface unit. Hall transducer is amagneto-dependent sensor by making use of Hall effect, whose use the theory thatcharge particles can produce Hall effect when they move in the magnetic field.They can be utilized in all kinds of magnetic field to test magnetic field and itstransformation. It is the prominent characteristic that it can measure all kinds ofcurrent, and the output is current or voltage. The precision is high and powerdissipation is low. Moreover, Hall transducer has some other advantages: well set,small bulk, light, long duration, easy installation, high frequency, shock resistance,oil resistance. So using Hall transducer is easy and reliable.LabVIEW is a graphical programming language, which is accepted as anormal data sampling and instrument controlling software by industry, academiaand labs. It uses graphical programming language and interactive programmingenvironment, human-computer interface adopts "What You See Is What You Get" ,and program codes are graphical codes, which make programming course close tohuman's thought, and the designer have no need to write text formatting codes.The system uses LabVIEW to develop all the softwares. The software have somefunctions such as signal sample, curve display, datas statistical analysis, datassave, curve and dates printout , and it includes information acquisition module,information display module, statistical analysis module, datas analysis module,datas save module and file open module. The system can acquire characteristicdatas and relevant statistical parameters by statistically analyzing the samplingdatas of welding current and welding voltage, which reflect welding progress, toassess effectively the welding quality. Applications of the system make assessingwelding quality take an important step to visualization and quantification.The paper tested the software's reliability in CO2 gas shielded arc weldingprogress. Used current Hall transducer and voltage Hall transducer to get weldingcurrent and welding voltage, and analyze the data by statistical analysis moduleon data analysis flat, and get I—U curve, current probability density distributioncurve, voltage probability density distribution curve, current frequency spectrumanalytic curve, voltage frequency spectrum analytic curve;chooze multivariablelinearity statistical analysis as on-line test method. The system could correctlyshow curves from each test result. Correctly analyzing probability density curveand frequency spectrum curve provides many kinds of effective analyse methodsfor researching arc welding .
