In the ages of information, the market environment changes rapidly. Facingthe increasing competition in the global market, the small-medium enterprises ofinjection molding industry should make use of all kinds of resources to serve forthemselves, and improve their own core competence. However, the resourcedistribution and isomerous characteristics have been marked problems. Since1990's, networked manufacturing has become a newly most vigorous generation ofadvanced manufacturing technology, which is characterized by network control,electronic business, collaboration design and dynamic enterprise alliance. The keythat improves enterprise's efficiency and competition is to realize the integration ofnetworked manufacturing platform. Networked manufacturing platform is adistributed, isomerous, weak coupling intelligent system. Besides the advancedmanufacturing technology and theory, a series of coherent technologies arerequired to the implement of networked manufacturing, especially the technologiesof distributed computing, information integration and artificial intelligent etc.Networked manufacturing have become one of the primary development trends inmodern manufacturing industry. Because networked manufacturing comes down tothe integration of many high technologies, including internal and externalintegration of enterprises, integration of product lifecycle, the integration of a massof hardware and software, and integration of technology and management, thenetworked manufacturing platform which can integrate various resources and havevarious functions, will be the technology support tool for networkedmanufacturing.In recent years, the development in the injection molding industry is becomingvery quickly. But with the procedure of rapid development, there are manyshortcomings being revealed at present, such as the span time of product designcycle is too much,the designing information resources of single enterprise isrelative shortage and lower designing efficiency etc. The most important reasonwhy the designing efficiency is so low is that the information technology can notcatch up with what is should be, that is to say, the information communicationamong project participants can't share dynamically. With the development of thenetworked information technology and the ripeness of networked manufacturingplatform conception, informatization has becoming the trend to injection moldingindustry. So, it is necessary to design a injection molding industry small-mediumenterprises-oriented networked manufacturing platform to communicate designinginformation each other for shortening time of product design cycle,integratinglimited design resources and improving designing efficiency.Under the current circumstance of networked manufacturing, we put forward ainjection molding machine networked manufacturing platform systemimplementation model to support the product or part of injection molding machinemodify and design stage in injection molding industry small-medium enterprisesbased on the philosophy of Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW)."Browser/Server/Database" driven three-layer architecture has been used forenabling the system model.In this paper, the relevant theory and implementation method of Web-basedinjection molding machine networked manufacturing platform were discussed formthe aspects of subject background and research target, domestic and foreignresearch status, research strategy, methodology, system architecture and integratingframe, relevant key technique, data relation constitution and softwareimplementation. A lot of functional modules, such as project management, subtaskdistribution, version management, user's purview management, product structureand configuration management, data warehouse of injection molding machineproduct and part management, etc, were used for developing this networkedmanufacturing platform system;In order to enhance the practicability andintegrality of the platform system, we also integrated some existing supportingsystems, like networked manufacturing collaborative working tools, systeminternal mail, suggestion system, to work with this networked manufacturingplatform system together;otherwise, in the platform system, Multipurpose InternetMail Extensions(MIME) configuration be used to start directly CAD files atisomeric circumstance, in this way, an executable product design service platformon computer network can be used for supporting team-based product developmentwhich based on injection molding industry small-medium enterprises in theenvironment of cross-enterprise and cross-region. At last, a case study was given todemonstrate the subject thinking.In this paper, we research the theory and implementation of networkedmanufacturing platform which injection molding industry small-mediumenterprises-oriented. Here, main research works are described as follows:1. Researching the purview control technique based on roles, using"purview—roles—control" theoretical model based on project to realize purviewcontrol in the platform system. Every role can be given different writing or readingpurview code, so users can implement various operation control according todifferent operation purview code, formatting complete "purview—roles—control"purview classification control based on multi roles, multi purviews in the project.2. Computer Supported Cooperative Work(CSCW)technique servers asfundamental technique, using its performance to implement working population,interactive,distribution and coordination that manufacturing will be requirednowadays. And constituting electronic drawing catalogue-tree based on injectionmolding machine primary part to formation data electronic warehouse aboutinjection molding industry.3. Study the Application Service Provider(ASP) product data integration andintensive management based on Web, developing the three-layer networkedmanufacturing platform architecture based on "Browser/Server/Database(BSD)",building architecture,integrating frame,division and description of the functionalmodules, and researching application model in injection molding industry.4. Using the conception of CSCD (Computer Supported Cooperative Design)in the platform, and discussing the architecture module of cooperative designwhich based on Web. Using MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions)configuration to realize direct start of CAD system that is distributed and isomeric.Using technique of the ActiveX control to build the multi-users auxiliary andcooperative mechanism. By means of integrating the NetMeeting with systemcircumstance to provide the situation of real-time communication for cooperativedesigner. So it becomes more convenience for the cooperative design in multi-loopcirculation information, designing information, resources information tocommunicate, and sharing of the manufacturing equipment.5. Researching the application integration of the platform with CAD softwarepreliminary, study the information exchanging and transform format of multiformCAX files in the networked circumstance. Study data warehouse management ofthe two-dimensional and three-dimensional drawing files which is object oriented,and study the definition,classification,format of storage,manipulation and methodof sharing of the drawing files. Study the display technique of the CAXtwo-dimensional and three-dimensional drawing files in networked circumstance.6. Study the technique of workflow management based on task driven,according to the control of version management to realize establishment of project,assignment of project subtask,distribution of manufacturing resource files,execution of cooperative design that is distributed,process examination task,standard examination task, complete networked manufacturing procedure of theworkflow.Finally, an instance of platform system is shown and conclusion aboutstudying and development of injection molding machine networked manufacturingplatform is made and its development tendency in the future.
