There are a carbonyl , a carboxyl . a methyl and two methylenes in levulinic acid (LA).So LA has good physical and chemical characteristics, can join in many reactions ,such as salification , esterification , hydrogenation, condensation, oxidation and halogenation . It can be used in pesticide field, industry, flavor field and medicine field. Through catalyzed hydrolysis of furfuryl. catalyzed hydrolysis of monosaccharide or catalyzed hydrolysis of polysaccharide we can get LA. Now many researchers are studying how to get LA through catalyzed hydrolysis of polysaccharide.Through study the mechanism of getting LA by glucose ,the reaction course can be described as following: glucose→5-hydroxymethyl furaldehyde→LA. sulfuric acid as catalyzer in this reaction .When a molecule of LA is gotten, a molecule of formic acid is gotten at the same time. The reaction can created as the following:Through the single factor test and response surface test, We researched the effects of different temperature ,concentration of sulfuric acid , solid-liquid ratio and time on the yield of LA by corn starch and found that with the temperature improved from 170 ℃ to 250℃ .the yield of LA is improved in the beginning, after 210℃ the yield is descend; with the concentration of sulfuric acid changed from 1% to 5% ,the yield of LA is improved all through; with the solid-liquid ratio changed from 2 to 6 ,the yield of LA is improved in the beginning and then it change very little; with the reaction...
