In this thesis,a new idea based on combination the reverse engineering with forward design was applied and the whole process of the blow mould CAD system was put forward.Furthermore, the key program technologies of constructing mould CAD system were solved and the system prototype was developed.Such technologies in the reverse engineering as surface digitization,data processing,surface reconstruction and surface fairness were applied to the pointdata ,which achieved from scanning the surface of the blow product,in order to divide the data into feature areas,constuct feature surface and sew into model in UG. The seconddeveloping based on the platform of UG were researched, analyzed on the development method of UG/open API,to apply such UG technology as wave ,virtual assembling,database ,attribute technology to the development of the blow mould CAD system, the technologies were accomplished which mainly include:interface designing and development ,parameter transform between interface and program, blow product input and modification model by scale, also realization the parting designing and total correlation to the blow prototype .The second development program methods for transfering the database in UG were investigated,the relative design parameters of standard part were dstablished in the database, based on the ODBC technology, the blowmould CAD system realized transfer the parameters of standand parts from database and updated the 3D model of standand part with the parameterized driving technology.In the end, the examples were given ,the raliable and the practicability of the theory and the system were validated.
