The wetland is the important component of the earth ecosystem. Its structure is complicated, with great influence on ecological environment, and playing an important role in safeguarding the human living environment. The wetland has good reputation of " kidney of the earth " , " natural storage reservoir " , " cradle of biological life ".The wetland is as the storage storehouse , source and gathering together of the gas of the greenhouse, and it is playing an important role in alleviating climatic change. Meanwhile, the climatic change has an important influence to the function and the area and the distribution of the wetland.The wetland and the climatic change interactive each other.Xinjiang of our country inland arid area has very much fragile ecosystem. The wetland is regarded as its important ecosystem, playing a great role in storing floodwater and taking precautions against drought, regulating the climate, controlling the soil to corrode and degrading the environmental pollution etc. The protection and reasonable exploitation of the wetland resource of Xinjiang seem important, so it is particularly important and urgent to study its change in such aspects as the distribution, structure , type and function of the wetland under the global background.The paper is divided into five parts.In the first part, the paper expounds the current situation of studying the wetland both at home and abroad.The second part introduces the general characteristic of the Xinjiang wetland in the global climatic change.
