A Philosophical Probe Into Ecology Culture At Theoretical And Practical Level

This paper aims at discussing theoretical construction of ecology culture and its practice in China. Guided by the world view and methodology of Marxism philosophy, from cultural and humanistic perspectives, this paper decodes ecological crisis and explores its deep origin. Human culture has two elementary dimensions. One is instrument—oriented ration in tech-science, the other is value—oriented ration in humanism spirit. The harmonious development of these two rational spirits is the essential condition for culture's sound advancement. While since modern times, the increasing tension between human beings and the nature in terms of industry culture has been caused by the partial development of ration in tech-science, which should be criticized. However, the role of ration in tech-science in proceeding human history and constructing ecology culture should be comprehended dialectically. The absent humanism spirit in industry culture can be compensated with Chinese traditional ecology culture. Synchronically, this paper exposes that it is the lack of rationalism in tech- science that foams the realization of value—oriented ration in humanism spirit featured by harmony between man and nature. Then the history in which ration in tech-science and humanism spirit developed from fusion to split is traced, a second fusion is looked forward to also, and this tendency is realistic and unavoidable. On the principle of absorbing the sensible essence of both western and Chinese culture, this paper intends to construct ecology culture at three theoretical levels. Finally, it's more important to transform conceptual ecology culture into concrete one of practical value. Under the circumstances of ecological dilemma in Chinese modernism construction, the exploring of a practical path of ecology culture with Chinese color is imperative.
