Modern mechanical manufacture is characterized of FMS, CIMS, AM, VM and CE. Quality of tool is decisive factor if advanced manufacture process is realized and manufacture equipment of numerical control works well. Traditional flat rake milling insert has not been meeting with requirement gradually. It is necessary that a new type of tool with low milling force and low milling temperature is designed and developed. Finite element simulation of mechanical-thermal was processed during milling, and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation of milling insert was carried in term of finite element analysis result of coupled physics field . The thesis'summaries as follow:1. Test of milling temperature and milling force was processed. Milling temperature and milling force of wave edge and flat rake face milling insert were measured by dynamic data collecting system. Test formula of temperature-time and force-time was obtained according to test data by use of MATLAB.2. Boundary condition of the temperature field finite element analysis was built according to the real condition in milling. Finite element analysis of temperature field was carried out, and temperature distributing regularity of milling insert was got, which built the basis for the analysis of coupled field.3. Boundary condition of FMA of stress field was built. Finite element analysis of stress field was processed. Stress distributing regularity of wave edge and flat rake face milling insert was got.4. Thermal stress originated from the changed temperature and equivalent stress and displacement were simulated by use of multi-field couple function of ANSYS, Distributing regularity of the equivalent stress was obtained. 5. Fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model of coupled field was built on base of fuzzy mathematics theory and the result of FMA of coupled field. All the influence factors were considered. fuzzy comprehensive evaluation of wave edge milling insert and flat rake face milling insert was processed.The study result of mechanical-thermal coupled physics field and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation result based on coupled physics field provide the gist of the theory in developing and optimizing three dimension groove of milling insert.
