The dew point of the flue gas, which was produced by the seven typical types of coal widely used in thermal power plants, was studied in this paper .This paper compared the dew point before and after the desulfurization, and the dew point of the desulfurized gas with and without GGH as well;discussed the main factors that influenced the dew point;elected the formulae suitable for caculating the dew point of the desulfurized gas;analysed the causticity of the flue gas; demonstrated the advantages and disadvantages with and without GGH in wet flue gas desulfurization in coal fired power plants by considering both the technology and economy factors, and put forward that it was feasible for the coal fired power plants to wipe off the GGH in wet flue gas desulfurization ,which had certain direction and reference value for establishing the project and amending the standard about the wet flue gas desulfurization in coal fired power plants.
