Some nations and region broke out SARS in November of 2002, the ability of the chief culprit- coronal virus make people be aware of the importance of disinfection, particularly the disinfection of the terminal water in sewage treatment plant becomes important defense line.For the sake of the human health, many nations and regions (North America, EU, Japan, Korea, Taiwan etc.) require disinfection before draining.The microorganism was made the basic index that promulgating in"Drainage standards of pollutant in Sewage Treatment Plant"by the Environmental Protection Bureau and the National Quantity Examination Bureau on December 24, 2002. Then it connects with the international.The disinfection methods are divided into the physical and chemical methods. The physical methods include ultraviolet ray method etc. The chemical methods include adding chlorine, ozone, organism chlorine slice etc. In recent years because of the relevant reports of the by-products in the chemistry disinfection increasing and requiring to the water quality improved, the physical methods such as ultraviolet ray disinfection is paid attention to.This text introduces five kinds of common chemical disinfection methods and ultraviolet ray disinfection method. It introduces their principles and characteristics and application in the sewage treatment plant. It compares their economic, function and safety. It discusses the detailed technique in proceeding projects and compares the economic projects in technique. In addition, it introduces the transformation and application adding chlorine system in Tianjin East Suburb Sewage Treatment Plant.After analyzing the methods of disinfection, the wastewater Treatment Plants should select the technology suited to them ,to ensure the water quality.
