With rapid development of modern industry the application of plastic products has been wider and wider. Injection moulding is an important molding method in plastic processing. However there are always many limitations in the mould producing process. According to the statistics, at least 60% of the problems in production due to the improper cooling system design of the mould. What's more important, cooling time accounts for 80% of the molding cycle in the whole injection process. So the design of the cooling system is also vital to production efficiency. In the past people try to get a good effect mainly by modifying and testing repeatedly. But nowadays when we believe in"time is efficiency", early designing methods can't satisfy the demand of the market any more. People need adopt new methods to design the mould, especially the cooling. The creation of technology"CAE"can meet people's wishes.In this thesis I use the software MPI4.0 (Moldflow Plastics Insight 4.0) of CAE to optimize the design of the cooling system of washing machine tub,the balance ring and the Automobile Door Panel. The outline of the thesis is as follows: the basic knowledge of cooling system design; the useless of the software"Moldflow"and the optimizing cooling system process with this software; the optimizing cooling analysis of the washing machine tubs(5kg),the balance ring and the Automobile Door Panel according to the foregoing statements, especially the research of the washing machine tubs. I have designed three cooling projects and selected the best one,finally the cooling effect is improved by 26.2%. Then the automobile door panel and the balance ring cooling system of the washing machine is applied with optimize analysis by MPI/COOL. The cooling effect of balance ring is improved by 21.4%, and the production cycle is less than others by 20s.This three experiments prove that the advantage of applying MPI/COOL technology is to analyze the rationality of the mold cooling system design in advance and to modify at any time. It can also save much time and effort and reduce the times of testing and modifying the mould and discard rate, shorten the mold design period, increase production efficiency and quality, reduce wasters, enhance the economic benefit and cut down cost. Therefore today it is particularly important to apply CAE technology to production.
