Based on the demand of reliability and safety management in practice and the development of the Computer Aided Fault Tree Analysis, researches on theory of Fault Tree Analysis are made in this paper. Also a Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) tool has been developed using Visual C ++ language. Not only the architecture, software design and features of this tool, but also the detailed algorithms of Minimal Cut Sets are discussed in this paper.The FTA tool is visual, intelligent and easy to use. It can help user to create fault trees, support qualitative and quantitative analysis. According to use vector graph drawing techniques, Events are drawn with vector graph, which can easily assign properties, copy, format and paste to add or remove elements throughout the diagrams. Furthermore, fault tree diagrams can be edited in graphic, saved in files and printed with high quality. This paper presents a Vector module for classifying events, create the array function, which can be used to view and modify all the events in a dear tree diagram.The applications of the FTA tool in the Oil depot Management System are also given, the tree can be drawed,edited and calculated throughout the diagrams. The result also be showed with suitable for use .It is proved to be a practical and intelligent tool, which will play an important role in system reliability and safety management.
