The Mechanical Agitated Thin-Film Evaporator (TFE for short) is a new-type highly efficient evaporating equipment. It is widely applied in industries and great economy benefits have been brought about. At present, the design of TFE is mostly based on 2D system, which can't satisfy the requirement of advanced design and manufacture. By establishing 3D model, the design intention can be reflected more intuitively and comprehensively; the 2D drawing can be created easily. Furthermore, on the basis of 3D model, the virtual assembly, interference detection, finite element analysis and dynamic simulation process can be realized; the integration of CAD and CAE can be performed. In this paper, the 3D parametric design of TFE was realized under SolidWorks 2005 drawing environment. It was developed by the secondary development of SolidWorks based on VB. Also, the CAE researches about virtual assembly, dynamic simulation and parametric finite element analysis were carried out on the basis of 3D model. The major contents are as follows:1)The library for standard and nonstandard parts and parametric dimension database of TFE were established by utilizing the method of parametric 3D part library based on feature modeling; the 3D parameter drawings of standard and nonstandard parts of TFE were realized by the method of parameter modification.2)The general design plan of TFE was built by adopting top-down and bottom-up assembly modeling method. Based on the structure of TFE, the assembly layer, assembly sequence and assembly path were determined. At last, the auto-assembly of TFE was realized by matching the constraint relation. And the interference during the assembling process was detected at the same time.3)According to the rotor's structure of TFE, a sort of rotation method suitable for shaft equipment was proposed. By the secondary development of SolidWorks based on VB, the dynamic simulation of rotor was realized.4)By utilizing the parametric design language"APDL"and combining with the...
