With the development and progress of science and technology, the demand for oil and natural gas becomes more and more, so the demand for drilling machinery and equipments also increased year by year. For petroleum equipment manufacturing enterprises, this is an opportunity and a challenge. How to quickly design and improve a derrick which satisfy the client demand will become the essential question of the enterprise survival and development, and will be the most important work of the enterprise.This article mastered and used the method of Pro/E parametric design skillfully, and developed the application technology of parametric modeling, and completed the parametric design of the ZJ30 derrick’s structure and main components.This article used the secondary development function of Pro/E, and established a operational parametric design interface of derrick’s bearing rods. Designers can modify the parametric variables of the interface,and the design and modification of rod models can make true automatically.The article also explored the technique and method to obtain the required data of the finite element analysis from solid model,and wrote the program of reading datas from DXF files to achieve the purpose of obtaining point geometry from a parametric solid model of derrick.Using the datas which obtained from solid models, established the finite element simulation model,and completed the simulation calculation of the derrick, achieving the integration of design and analysis.If the above contents can be came ture, project planners will spend less time on designing and improving a derrick which satisfy the client demand, and be able to test and verify the rationality of parameterized derricks.There will be greatly improving the working efficiency, and has an important engineering and economic benefit.
