The Pilot Study On Water Quality And Quantity Of The Shallow-layer Groundwater In Suzhou Urban Planning Area

The groundwater resources in Suzhou Urban Planning Area are abundant, but previous application and study are related to the deep-layer groundwater more than the shallow-layer groundwater.In 2000 the Jiangsu People's Congress Standing Committee passed the decision which prohibits people from exploiting the deep-layer groundwater in five years in Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou. The decision has certain influence on not only the industries and enterprises which have special requirements in water quality and water temperatures in this area, but also part of water used in daily life.This thesis starts with long-term developing strategy of sustainable water resources, analyzes the geological conditions of the shallow-layer groundwater first and evaluates the amount of the resources that can be exploited so that the shallow-layer groundwater resources can be used effectively. As a result, the shallow-layer groundwater can be a big help in Suzhou sustainable economic developmentThe thesis carries on an experimental research in the exploitation technics of the shallow-layer groundwater and advances the exploitation technics called Parent-child Well. According to the results in analysis of the sample water quality, it evaluates the shallow-layer groundwater quality in the urban planning area. In the process of calculating the amount of the shallow-layer groundwater resource, I use Terzaghi sedimentation model to confirm the water level control value of micro pressed water and use quantitative criterion of ground sedimentation as the restricted qualifications for exploitation. Calculate the supply quantity for diving vertically flow and the exploited quantity of micro pressed water. And in the end I advance the projects and ideas for exploiting and making use of micro pressed water.
