The new technology and equipment used in Dagushan mineral processing plant to increase iron assay and reduce silicon in concentrate are discussed in this paper. A feasible research has been carried out to deal with the magnetite , in the same time some new industrial technologies and high efficiency mineral processing equipment are also been applied in this process, at last the industrial effects have been testified through the adoption of the new technology and the application of the new equipment.The results of the experiment research show that the ore in Dagushan mineral processing plant are typical high silicon low sulphur magnetite, the crystal size is very fine ,through the adopt i on of phase grinding — simple magnetic separation — regrinding technology, the first classification overflow must reach above 60% minus 0.074mm ,and the second classification overflow above 90% minus 0.074mm. In dealing with the discharge of the regrinding process, magnetic separation had been used before the screen process, this method can increase the assay of the screen feed and the screen discharge, reduce the circulating load, leading to an improved grinding efficiency.The new high efficiency equipment has also been used. Some conclusions can be drawn from the industrial results that the discharge particle size composition of long drum mill is relatively uniform and the grinding effect is good than short drum mill; the BX magnetic separator has better separating effect; and the MVS vibrating screen possesses high treating capacity ,high sieving efficiency, and low circulating load.
