More roadheader has being used in coal mine ,more attention has being attracted to the work capability of roadheader. One of the important factors of roadheader work performance evaluation is stability, and it is valuable to do research on stability.This paper first sets up a model of roadheader stability according to the stress analysis of the whole longitudinal roadheader. MATLAB programme was used to analyze longitudinal roadheader working stability and stability of several extreme positions which is based on the calculated load of cutting head and the roadheader stability model . We can simulate the influence to roadheader stability aroused by the change of roadheader gravity center positions according to the deflexion load which is set in the established model. In the next place, we have studied the influence to roadheader stability arosed by the different structures and parameters of cutting head. At last, we have optimized the movement parameters of roaderheader by Partical Swarm Optimization theory and MATLAB programme which conduces a better stability to roadheader.
