With the rapid development of the technology on thesurface of material, the demand for all kinds of targetmaterials used for plating film is continuously increasing. Some advanced and complicated fields need high quality thin film, so the high standard request for technology parameter ofthe target material is put forward. The degree of unevenness is one of the important technology parameters for targetmaterial, so it's very significant to establish the inspectingand testing system to implement the automotive testing for thesurface of large target material.This thesis comes from a cooperative project with acorporation. The whole scheme is brought forward in this paper according to the function request of the project. The inspecting and testing system consists of mechanical system,hardware system and software system. The mechanical systemmeets the clamping and orientation about the measuredobject , the motion of the laser probe and the rotaryworkbench. The hardware system accomplishes the sampling,A/D transfer, analysis and disposal of the signal and the control of the motion of the systematic kinetic components. The system software based on LabVIEW software platformabout VI Technology is designed, and its functions can be expanded by adding modules with the function request of the testing system.The mechanical system is designed by the software Pro/E,the supporting parts, clamp, guide and gear transmission are calculated and checked in detail. The error sources are analyzed and the precision indexes are designed in the system,the error distribution is finished based on the same-effect method by the means of trial. The results show the system can meet the measurement request of 0.1mm precision, if the parts are processed and assembled by the demand tolerance. PC-DAQ/PCI is selected as the hardware platform of thesystem based on the compare and analysis in five types of bus.The selections of sensor and DAQ card is carried out according to the function demand of the system, and thedesign of system hardware is completed in this paper. The system software based on LabVIEW software platform about VI Technology is designed, data acquisition and reappearance,digital filter, Statistic analysis and disposal, autocorrelation analysis and virtual signal generation comprise its mainfunction modules. The treatment methods of main analysisand disposal modules is listed, and the functions of themodules of two-dimensions data analysis and disposal and thethree-dimensions surface topography display and analysis arevalidated by the analysis and disposal done to virtual signals.The system has accomplished the automotive testing forthe surface of large target material and the sampling, analysisand disposal of the signal of the degree of unevenness, theresults can be displayed by text and wave types. The system iseasy to operate and the interface of the software is friendly,the testing precision is reliable and meets the request of the project.
