Formaldehyde released by architectural decoration materials seriously damages human health, so it has already attracted the world's attention. On the present situation, formaldehyde detecting methods and means in architectural decoration materials has basically taken shape. But the real-time monitoring methods and means for formaldehyde concentration in family, workplace or manufacture enterprises which produce formaldehyde- containing materials have not formed. The thesis designed and made the Can Bus based distributed formaldehyde monitoring network system, which can monitor formaldehyde concentrations on-line on these occasions.The formaldehyde monitoring network system includes central monitoring host, CAN Bus network and intelligent node. Central monitoring host is a computer adopting the PC-CAN adapter, which make the real-time monitoring and controlling become true. CAN Bus network is serial bus topology using multiple host communication, and the thesis develops a new communication protocol based on theoretical and practical issues. Intelligent node is composed of the CPU main-control module, CAN communication module, LCD display module, real-time clock module, data acquisition module, initial setup module, power supply module, data storage module, alarm processing module, watchdog module and reset module. It adopts microcontroller Mega128 as the dominant chip, which is suitable for industrial situation.The CAN Bus based formaldehyde monitoring network system can collect and process the field data in a fast and efficient manner, carry through the real-time on-site monitoring and displaying, and achieve local information processing. It also achieves high-speed communication, low data loss rate and good operating results. When the system was successfully developed, it can be used to environmental monitoring in the process of producing wood-based panel. At the same time, it can promote the formulation and implement of the compulsory national standards about the formaldehyde content in wood production process workshop. In addition, this system can achieve two after control, improve the efficiency of resin distributing process, save resources, reduce formaldehyde content within the wood-based panel, and improve the commercial value of wood panel.
